چکیده

By tracking the delocalized states of the two-dimensional hole gas in a p-type GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure as a function of magnetic field, we mapped out a phase diagram in the density magnetic field plane. We found that the energy of the delocalized state from the lowest Landau level flattens out as the magnetic field tends toward zero. This finding is different from that for the two-dimensional electron system in an n-type GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure where delocalized states diverge in energy as B goes to zero indicating the presence of only localized states below the Fermi energy. The possible connection of this finding to the recently observed metal-insulator transition at B = 0 in the two-dimensional hole gas systems is discussed. Typeset using REVTEX

Study of lone pair description in molecules by the modified delocalized floating spherical Gaussian orbital method.

This research has been carried out to study and find a rather general description for a lone pairorbital in molecules. Since the orbital parameters must be manageable in advance, and correctgeometry of the molecule (bond lengths) is depend on the appropriate lone pair description; theFSGO method including optimization has been used to obtain orbital parameters and energy. Theproposed models for...

Sum Rule of the Hall Conductance in Random Quantum Phase Transition

The Hall conductance σxy of two-dimensional lattice electrons with random potential is investigated. The change of σxy due to randomness is focused on. It is a quantum phase transition where the sum rule of σxy plays an important role. By the string (anyon) gauge, numerical study becomes possible in sufficiently weak magnetic field regime. It is essential to discuss the floating scenario in the...

Highly mobile charge-transfer excitons in two-dimensional WS2/tetracene heterostructures

Charge-transfer (CT) excitons at heterointerfaces play a critical role in light to electricity conversion using organic and nanostructured materials. However, how CT excitons migrate at these interfaces is poorly understood. We investigate the formation and transport of CT excitons in two-dimensional WS2/tetracene van der Waals heterostructures. Electron and hole transfer occurs on the time sca...

Numerical Investigation in the Effect of Number of Nozzle Hole on Performance and Emission in Dual Fuel Engine

Air pollution is one of the major issues about the diesel engines in todays' world. It is a special concern in those areas that have difficulty meeting health-based outdoor air quality standards. Natural gas has low emission and resource abundance and also conventional compression ignition engine can be easily converted to a dual fuel mode to use natural gas as main fuel and diesel as pilot ...

W ∞ algebras , Hawking radiation , and information retention by stringy black holes

We have argued previously, based on the analysis of two-dimensional stringy black holes, that information in stringy versions of four-dimensional Schwarzschild black holes (the singular regions of which are represented by appropriate Wess-Zumino-Witten models) is retained by quantumW symmetries when the horizon area is not preserved due to Hawking radiation. It is key that the exactly marginal ...
